In the creation of their last album ‘An Object’ the Los Angeles experimental punk duo decided to take the punk attitude beyond the sound and to design, manufacture and package the records themselves.

In a reality where the music quality and its industry are constantly threatened by the negative aspects of Internet and where the hype machine accelerates the turnover of new bands ¨sometimes¨ without any filter, it is really admirable what Randy Randall and Dean Spunt did. This conceptual process of making a record is a beautiful example of commitment to the audience, to the music and to themselves as artists. As Martina Navratilova once said ‘the difference between involvement and commitment is like ham and eggs. The chicken is involved; the pig is committed’.

After reading this interview with Pitchfork and seeing their live performance at Doka (Amsterdam), we dare to say using Martina’s metaphor that No Age are super healthy pigs and their meat is extraordinary.
