Acne Studios in London, was transformed, for one night only, into the perfect place to celebrate the catwalk presentation for Acne Autumn/Winter 2012/13. Ourselves, together with nearly 800 guests including press, buyers, actors, celebrities… did not want to miss the occasion.

The photographer André Kertész and his distorted images, the sculptor Hans Bellmer and the painter Hanneline Røgeberg, have formed the source of inspiration for Jonny Johansson, creative director of Acne, to create a collection in which playing with proportions is the key.

He proposes an Autumn/Winter season where quilted garments, oversize coats superimposed over dresses tightly fitted around the waist and tube skirts, are the stars.

In nearly all the outfits the waist appears tight, fitted, seductive and framed by elastic belts, reminding us of a kimono piece, here the collection meets the Far East; both in the cuts, and the blend of textures and silhouettes captured in a colour palette where neutral whites, blacks and greys take the lead, while still leaving room for acid tones.

A minimalist collection, in which Jonny Johansson has aimed to mix all kinds of fabric, colours and textures in the garments, staying faithful to a the Swedish company’s signature simple style.
