Burberry Prorsum, Hyde Park Gardens, Spring/Summer 2013 catwalk show.

A huge, transparent marquee tent, like a giant greenhouse, takes up half of Kensington Gardens.
Outside, a hundred or so photographers wait for the perfect moment to capture the celebrities that have been invited by the British brand.

We enter the marquee in the dark, take a seat and the show begins.

Curtains covering the whole marquee, slowly fall, letting the light through onto the stage, and with it, the first model appears, sheathed in an off white cloak.

From here on in, a succession of excellent garments, designed by British designer Christopher Bailey, are paraded. Green, turquoise, ink blue and carmine red, are just a few of the colours featured in this collection.
The dresses, skirts and corset tops are combined with trench-like capes and short bomber jackets. Cotton satin, metallic silk and embroidery are also key elements of the collection. A whole new approach from the British fashion house, with colours and fabrics that we are not used to seeing from them.

As soon as it ends we run backstage to see how Dita Von Teese, Mario Testino or Anna Wintour congratulate Bailey.

The impeccable staging gives the perfect final touch, leaving us pleasantly surprised for yet another year.
